Biography
Mrs. Kadijah Amoah is Chief Executive Officer of Pecan Energies Ghana Limited and a member of the Executive Management Team of Pecan Energies. A lawyer by training, she is the first Ghanaian woman to lead an oil and gas exploration and production company. Pecan Energies, owned by the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), operates the Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block offshore Ghana, which includes the ultra-deepwater Pecan field.
Amoah oversaw the presentation of the Plan of Development for the DWT/CTP block, which Ghanaian authorities approved in July 2023. Before joining Pecan Energies, she was Head of Investments and Business Development in the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, where she served as the Government of Ghana lead for the Millennium Challenge Corporation and for the UK Ghana Business Council. She was also a member of the Executive Management Team of Aker Energy AS, the first Black woman to hold such a role at the Norwegian company.
Amoah holds a BA (Hons) in Political Science and Sociology, an LLB (Hons) and an MSc in International Business from the University of Ghana, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy and Innovation and an MBA from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. She is an Eisenhower Fellow and a council member of the Ghana Upstream Petroleum Chamber. She was named Female Energy Personality of the Year at the 2023 Ghana Energy Awards and selected as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in the Class of 2026.
Her focus areas include energy security, long-term value creation from Ghana’s deepwater assets and new approaches to financing Africa’s upstream sector. Speaking at Africa Oil Week (AOW) 2026 in Accra, she called for mechanisms that channel Africa’s domestic capital, including sovereign wealth fund savings, into African energy projects, and for development finance institutions to make greater use of guarantees, political-risk insurance and credit enhancement to mobilise private capital.
