AETC 2027, the fourth Africa Energy Technology Conference, takes place in Accra, Ghana, from 18 to 20 May 2027. It opens on the evening of Monday 17 May (Day 0) with the Africa Energy Rave Soirée, followed by three conference days from Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20 May. Labadi Beach Hotel is the main venue, and technical workshops take place at CEIBS Ghana.

Engineering Sovereignty: Scaling and Commercializing Indigenous Technologies for Africa’s Unified Energy Economy. The programme moves from policy and ownership (Day 1) to manufacturing, commercialization and investment (Day 2) and to deals, youth and implementation (Day 3), and is organised around twelve thematic pillars.

Heads of state and ministers, policymakers and regulators, energy and industry leaders, investors and development finance institutions, and the engineers, founders and young innovators building Africa’s energy technologies, from national oil companies and utilities to manufacturers and solution providers.

The programme is delivered in English, with interpreters for French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and other languages.

Speaker proposals and abstracts can be submitted on the Get Involved page. The programme team reviews every submission and will contact you if there is a fit.

Registration opens on aetconference.com. Pass types, prices and early-bird deadlines for 2027 will be announced when ticket sales open. Prices are set in Ghana cedis (GHS) with a US dollar reference; you can pay by card or mobile money through Paystack, or request a corporate invoice and pay by bank transfer.

Yes. Organisations can buy several passes in one order and assign them to named delegates later from their account. Group terms will be confirmed when ticket sales open.

Access to the Africa Energy Rave Soirée (Day 0), the Gala Dinner & Awards Night (Day 1 evening) and the Deal Room & Investor ConneXion (Day 3) depends on your pass type. The access included with each pass will be published with the ticket launch.

The main conference days take place at Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra. Technical sessions and workshops take place at CEIBS Ghana. The day-by-day venue plan, maps and transport details will be published on the Venue page and sent to you before the event.

Many international delegates need a visa to enter Ghana, so check the requirements for your nationality with official sources and apply early. Once registered, you can request a visa invitation letter from your account. Letters are issued only to registered delegates and do not guarantee that a visa will be granted.

Labadi Beach Hotel, the main venue, is the most convenient option. Delegate room rates and the booking link for 2027 will be published on the Travel page. Other Accra hotels are available; allow time for transport to the venues.

Business attire is recommended for the conference days. The Africa Energy Rave Soirée on Day 0 is an informal evening. The Gala Dinner & Awards Night on the evening of Day 1 has its own dress code, which will be confirmed in your pre-event information.

Yes. Your pass is a QR code in your account and in the AETC app, where it also works offline, and you can add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Show it at check-in; your badge is printed the first time you check in. The app also carries the programme, your agenda, networking and live updates.

Networking runs through the whole programme, from the Day 0 Soirée to the Networking Hub & Exhibition Opening on Day 1. In the app you can opt in to a networking profile, get matched with relevant delegates and book meetings. The Deal Room & Investor ConneXion on Day 3 matches companies with promising indigenous cleantech and oil & gas technology to investors and collaborators; how to take part will be announced.

Media accreditation is by application on the Media page. Applications close three weeks before the event. The AETC team reviews each application, and approved journalists receive a media pass and event information.

You can transfer your pass to a colleague from your account before the event; the pass is reissued in the new holder’s name. Refund terms will be set out in the ticket terms and conditions published with the ticket launch.
